I realized that my wife, Kim is my closest and most valuable coach. She has street smarts that I don't have and she can see things in a completely different way than the way I see them. I would not be where I am without her in my life. I am also grateful to another coach of mine, my friend Richard. He owns his own restaurant in my town and is very successful. Having a clear vision of exactly what I want to do each day, sticking to a game plan to hit my 90 day goals is so much more exciting and before I go to bed at night I feel like I have accomplished something. I can't tell you how many days went by in the past where it started coming up on 12 midnight and I looked back on my day and realized I did absolutely nothing to move forward in hitting my goals. I actually heard once from a top earner in my first MLM company that you should make a goal of how many people you want to recruit or how many sales you want in 12 months. Then take that number and work smarter & harder then you have ever worked before and achieve that 12 month goal in 90 days! This creates momentum and by doing it you are setting yourself up for a fantastic income and fantastic life. Couple things I want to point out that I accomplished this week. #1 - I started interacting with more people on twitter. This may seem like a waste of time to some, but when you have the automated tools I use, it literally only takes me 15-20 minutes per day to create a huge following and social media presence. Just by interacting with 20 people a day this week I actually got replies back from some of the big guru's in our industry. I mean when was the last time you were able to compliment T Harv Ecker and have him reply back to you asking for your blog link? Won't happen unless you are embracing the power of social media. #2 - I found out more about how some of my closest partners think about me. My strengths, weaknesses, ect. It really opened my eyes to the way others are looking at me and I now know some of the areas I need to work on in my life to be more successful. The MOST difficult thing is not on the receiving side, it is on the giving side. Try giving honest, open feedback for an entire week. Don't hold anything back. Don't try to be nice. Say exactly what is in your head. I guarantee it will be the most difficult week of your life. Now, that's not to say receiving it is easy either. Has anyone ever given you straight, unabashed negative feedback about something you've done that you were proud of? How did that feel? How did you react? Were you angry? Resentful? Violent? Resistant? Don't beat yourself up. That is perfectly normal. Only those that have trained themselves to accept feedback as just that... feedback, have the ability to look at it neutrally. As something that can help them to get better. As a way of improving themselves. Well, I received some unabashed, negative feedback about some videos I've been putting out there from the person closest to me, my wife. And how did I react? Exactly. Anger. Resentment. Resistance. Acheiving Your Goals by Using the PERT Method

Blair Singer, author of Sales Dogs and The ABCs of Building Business Teams That Win, taught me an extremely valuable technique for setting and achieving goals. It is called PERT (Program Evaluation and Review Technique) and it is critical to ensuring your reach the goals you set for yourself or your business. Simply put, you start out in the future, at the point you've reached your goal, then you work backwards. Each time you work back a step you ask yourself the question "What happened just before that?" By using sticky notes on a wall or white board, you have the ability to move them around, add new steps between other steps, change the path of the goal, etc. It allows you to get extremely detailed about the steps you will take in acheiving your goal. It is very powerful and really takes the guess work out of setting a goal and working to achieve it. This process ensures you get what you want.
