You know what, we hear this question all the time, “Isn’t SEO too competitive?”
What are our thoughts on this? Well, yes and no… It really depends.
See, if you are just like everybody else who jumps on the bandwagon and tries to SEO for broad keywords that are markets in and of themselves, then yes, SEOing for the #1 spot will be highly competitive.
Terms like “MLM” which nets over 38.5 million competing pages are considered very competitive.
Instead… SEO for “Money Keywords“
But then the better question is, do you want to bother ranking for such terms right off the bat? Isn’t even what we like to call a “money keyword” – a keyword that actual potential leads/customers would be searching for.
If you do a bit more thinking and digging, you might come across the keyterm “join MLM“, which has 6.5 million pages, far less than the 38.5 million for the term “MLM“.
Now let’ s think about this for a minute, which term do you think would draw the more qualified lead, “MLM” (which happens to include a LOT of negative websites slandering the network marketing business), or the phrase “join MLM“?
A real head scratcher huh? :)
Get Off the Bandwagon!
Our point is this, SEO is only too competitive if you jump on the bandwagon and go with the crowd, which is to not think things through and blindly SEO for terms you have no business SEOing for.
Having said that… don’t get us wrong. There’s nothing wrong with trying to rank for “MLM”. With the strategies we’ll be sharing with you, you WILL be able to get the top spot. Just be mindful of the level of competition and the time and effort you’ll have to invest.
