10 months ago +1 + -I think I get what you're saying. Don't build you brand around a YouTube (for example) build it around yourself. I think that's a really important idea, it empowers us to deliver our message kinetically rather than statically.

10 months ago 0 + -At this point you could dedicate energy to playing the Youtube game.. or focus on your own game. Viddler is glad to help in promotion, but getting big on Youtube is a jungle of cross-promotion and playing the subscription game giving power to Youtube.

10 months ago +1 + -I find the youtube subscription kinda lame. Viddler notifies me when individials release new content. That works a little better for me. But a 3rd party aggregator is still better than either.

Twitter is where I find anything.
Twitter > video > blog > link > another blog > another video > a photo > a how-to on photography ... etc
That's just from clicking ONE link on Twitter.

10 months ago +1 + -I didn't mean to sound like some sort of marketer with Mailing list.. it could be RSS/Twitter/Brightkite/Facebook.. It's just don't give it all to Youtube all the power. If we give it to easily.. they will take advantage of that.

TERRIBLE privacy controls that allow the HATER comments through...What is the point of putting your comments to friends only if you can still see the hate messages? I am done with you tube.
