Check out http://www.site5.com/ for cheap reliable virtual hosting. their holiday deal is unbeatable.

Hey Rob,

I use GoDaddy as my hosting provider and love it. It also looks with the virtual servers you can get SSH access. I found a nice blog post on it that you could reference. http://www.odaniinteractive.com/article/2006/11/03/tutorial-managing-godaddy-virtual-dedicated-server-vds

I will say the best thing I like about GoDaddy is their customer service and that's why I say with them.

Good luck! :)

http://wordpress.com/ - lets you do hosting, custom themes, etc.

My blog is hosted at wordpress.com
The basic (free) offer is simple and efficient. The only problem will be disk space, 50MB. But you can buy more space if needed.

I use wordpress.com for some. I also use dreamhost which has an easy install option and they keep it updated. You basically just press a button and in installs the latest version onto your site. This allows for all the add-ons and such that you don't get with wordpress.com. http://blog.62mph.com is hosted there. They are not the best in terms of service, but they are cheap and i know a lot of people that like them.

I use Dreamhost myself, they're fairly reliable and have lots of extras: SSH, svn, etc. I've been using them for over a year and have been pretty happy. Let me know if you want a discount code.

dreamhost.com is a great hosting service, as kyleslat mentioned. Plus he could also upload and store files. I have my own dedicated servers personally, but I have dreamhost as a backup. All of their plans also "grow" as well, so his disk space and bandwidth will increase every so often! Pretty awesome.

I am a fan of http://asmallorange.com and have my hosting there. :)

I like Wordpress.com, but I've also heard things about MediaTemple (mt).
