I managed to get an interview with one of the founders of zattoo an osx application that allows you to watch television channels over the internet. Currently seems to only work in europe.

The Gravity Test Encoding

This is test of a screen size, with a flexible datarate but in h264 via my hardware encoder which did a 12 minute video in 6 mins. so pretty quick to encode considering.
