GDC08 Castle Crashers Walkthrough

Coming straight from the GDC floor and onto your computer screen is actual gameplay video of The Behemoth's little XBLA game that could, Castle Crashers. And it's an informative video at that. In the vid, The Behemoth briefly shows off some of the game's hack and slash combat as they string together a few combos, kill some baddies and explain how the magic system works. You also get to see the game's level map that encompasses twenty levels and get to preview what the character stats screen looks like. But most interesting of all is the fact that Castle Crashers will incorporate some mild RPG elements that'll allow you to level up your character, gain experience points and unlock new abilities.

GDC08 Project Offset

Lost in the shuffle during the GDC08 news flood was the announcement that Intel had acquired Offset Software, makers of the upcoming, Project Offset. Currently in development for the Xbox 360 and PC, Project Offset is reminiscent of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion with a third-person perspective that doesn't look broken (first-person is also selectable). The game will also feature a multiplayer component, so it actually might be a little more like Two Worlds.

Huxley_Game_Beta_Gameplay

The second closed beta testing for upcoming MMOFPS Huxley (PC and Xbox 360) was ended recently and judging from the video clip, it looks like that it went perfectly fine. Webzen Games will release the game some time during Q2 of 2008. Despite having two different versions, Huxley will be experienced differently by gamers depending on their platform of choice. One glaring is the single player campaign mode that is only available on the Xbox 360 version. The purpose of the second closed beta was to refine Huxley's battle-play core system. Webzen announced before that the MMO elements of the game will be polished during the open beta. However, an exact date for that has yet to be confirmed.
