Recorded in June of 1991 at El Segundo's "Jet City Sound" and Redondo Beach's Pendragon Studios (Now owned by 1980's Metal guru Don Dokken), Greenhouse Effect's stirring rawkus track "Manipulation" shoots out of it's speakers with power as if to inform the public of the coming onslaught wave of alternative rock music to come in the 1990's decade !! Producer / Sound Studio engineer Bill Krodel is key in pulling every ounce of crazy rock energy out of G.e. - as he also "lets them (and other bands too) do what they will and what they want !! Krodel ups the levels to 11 and is as much a part of the G.e. Sound as the band itself ! Manic genius Clark Hagins and his powerful lead vocals roar through G.e. songs with applaum! Hagins Guitar is break-through as it soars along not heavy metal and certainly more on the punk rock side. As early as 1986, Hagins would charge straight into Major Recording Labels (as well as some indie ones) , and shouting from the rooftops of his "discovered new sound and style",.borrowed from Iggy Pop ,Bowie, and Black Flag !!..to very little feed back (and low brow replies at best usually). However, it is plainly seen and known today of Hagins prowess and 'vision' for 'arena' alternative rock ,..to be played at the Forum,,..not just at a backyard barbeque !! HE SAW THE FUTURE !!
