HHS' AdoptUsKids launch new PSAs to encourage adoption of teens from foster care

The Advertising Council, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Administration for Children and Families (ACF) and AdoptUsKids, announced today the launch of a new series of public service advertisements (PSAs) designed to raise awareness about teens who are in foster care and waiting for "forever families" to adopt them. The new PSAs are an extension of the previously successful campaign, launched in 2002, which focused on the adoption of children in foster care with the successful tag line "You don't have to be perfect to be a perfect parent." Star of "Private Practice" Kicks Off Fourth Annual PEDIGREE Adoption DrivePEDIGREE Food for Dogs officially opened the doors to the PEDIGREE DOGSTORE in Times Square today with the help of Kate Walsh. The store will serve as the first short-term adoption center of its kind where visitors can learn about dog adoption, meet adoptable dogs and make donations to support various shelters across the country. This grand opening kicks off the fourth annual PEDIGREE Adoption Drive.Because of their love for dogs, PEDIGREE Food for Dogs created The PEDIGREE Adoption Drive to help shine a spotlight on the plight of homeless dogs. Through no fault of their own, more than four million dogs end up in shelters every year. Sadly, nearly half of those canines never find a place to call home, a trend that the PEDIGREE Brand and Walsh hope to help reverse.

The Advertising Council, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) Administration for Children and Families (ACF) and the Collaboration to AdoptUsKids, announced today the launch of a comprehensive campaign designed to encourage Spanish-speaking families and individuals to consider adoption from the U.S. foster care system.The new multi-media campaign includes Spanish television, radio, and print PSAs, and issues a national call-to-action for parents to adopt children by offering important, accurate information to the Hispanic community about the foster care system and the adoption process. The campaign emphasizes the message that families or individuals can achieve a sense of fulfillment by adopting a child through foster care. It also aims to significantly increase awareness of the need to provide loving, permanent families for children in the foster care system.
