I say like and um WAY TOO MUCH in these videos. Sorry.

I like, say like, like way too much too. I'm like, trying to like stop saying um in my videos.

Yep. I'm a big ummer. I just took a public speaking course, and my audience feedback always said "Enough with the Um's already!" So you may notice in my video long pauses. That's where I'm saying "ummmmm" in my head.

Oh! And this is funny. I would say "um" a lot in my Japanese class in college, which annoyed the teacher. So I found out that the Japanese equivalent is "anoooo", so I started saying that and my teacher was impressed.

I was going to read a excerpt here, but instead just said "skin against skin", still... cheese factor to 11.

You're almost there, 8000 is just around the corner! You can do it!

I used to have a professor who counted when you said the word "like" or "um" in class. (It was a theater class) And I trained myself out of it SO WELL, but alas, it is back. I think it is nerves. Or ... like something else. ;)

That's a good kind of exercise. . . I'll have to try that!

One word at a time, just take it one word at a time and you'll get there.

I was having the same issue with my novel earlier. And then one of my characters dissappeared leaving the other chracter to figure out what to do on her own. And then suddenly she is a target for assassination. What keeps me writing is if I'm bored, i'll throw in something new. It's easy for me since i have nothing planned at this point, but maybe try throwing in a new character or location or something. Add a twist or two.

I'm totally going to check that out. Thanks for the recommendation

If you have a chapter that you know you want to write but haven't gotten to it yet, write it now. Who says you have to write in a linear fashion? Write the chapter you want to write and maybe it'll help you when you go back to write the previous chapters that you were struggling with.

I hear ya. The more I write, the more my timeline gets kinda goofy but I just keep telling myself to write and worry about it later.

Thanks for the tip! I'll have to check it out.

Wooo! I don't work tomorrow either so here's to reaching or breaking 10K by the end of Monday! :o)

ooh! science museum! Phoenix has a science museum? and it's interesting? wow. :-)

Actually, it is! I know, shocking! T and I have been making an active effort to get ourselves all "cultured" or whatever so each sunday we spend the day together and find different things. We are thinking Opera next week. :D

haha characters are so rebellious sometimes...
