Oh, Twitter's fine. I enjoy it quite a bit, but I think we all tend to overinflate it's importance.

I like Pownce too, but I often have difficulties figuring out the use-case of it compared to using a combination of Twitter + FriendFeed. I love sharing media via Pownce, but I don't tend to do any micro-blogging there.

Heh, the MacBook's got a massive compile going so I'll have to reply with text. I totally see what you're saying. My point is that Twitter's really just a water cooler, primarily for the social media people and a geeks. That's a great niche community to get that kind of information from. BUT, it's more chance than anything that the community is there. Let's stop trying to make the water cooler the focus of attention here, because let's face it, we can find a water cooler anywhere, and we might even find one that works the majority of the time. ;-)
