Okay, so here's yet another video of a helicopter flight down to the Columbia River near Lake Chelan. Features a 1500 foot per minute descent -- that's about the same rate of descent if the engine quit.

3 months ago 0 + -I liked your video. I've been following your twitter feed and when you mentioned the cost of Jet A I thought you might have been flying a turbine - it makes me so happy to see an R22! May I ask where you mounted your camera and how you keep it so steady? Thanks for sharing the view of the river.

3 months ago 0 + -Glad you like the video. It's actually an R44 Raven II. For this video, the camera is mounted using a RAM mount on the bar between the two front seats. The mount has some rubberized surfaces and I think that helps keep the vibration down. On other videos, I mount the camera outside, on the helicopter's nose. Still can't decide which I like best.

3 months ago 0 + -Ok, R44 That makes sense! Easier to mount that camera on the bar. I was trying to imagine how you had attached it to the firewall on a 22. It's embarrassing I didn't recognize the control panel of an R44 - I train in the R44 (private going commercial/CFII) and love that helicopter. So many people I know are itching to fly Jet Rangers and A-Stars but I think the Robi is great bird. Thanks for sharing the pics and vids.
