Helicopter Landing at Friends' House

Here's another POV video with the camera set up inside the cockpit of my helicopter. Sound was off for this one, but I added narration after the fact to explain what's going on. Basically, we landed in my friend's front yard on our cross-country trip from Seattle to Wickenburg in September. The landing required a steep approach into an area surrounded by tall pine trees. A bit tricky. My only regret is that I forgot to turn the camera back on the next day when we climbed out.

Another Sky Harbor Helipad Landing

There's no sound in this one, but it's quick and smooth. We're landing a helicopter atop the terminal 3 parking structure helispot at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport.

Helicopter Flight from Quincy to Chelan

This time, I mounted the camera inside the cockpit on a new mounting pole. (I call it the "wigglestick" because it definitely adds an element of wiggle to the image.) It was a 30-minute flight, but I didn't keep the camera running the whole time. Nice scenery near the end. Would love to read your comments.

Helicopter Flight from Chelan to Pateros

Some Cherry Drying Training

On May 19, I did some training with Dave in Portland, OR, in preparation for my cherry drying gig this summer. In this video, we depart Portland-Troutdale Airport and fly up the Columbia River to Reed Island where I get down low and practice using my downwash to blow imaginary water off the leaves. It's low and slow flying; unfortunately, the camera is mounted on the helicopter's nose and you can't see the downwash in action.
