The first annual "Global Blue Planet Summit" took place April 3rd-5th, 2008 in Ko Olina, Hawaii. The goal is to end dependence on carbon-based fuels and stabilize the Earth's climate. Hawaii was chosen as a backdrop because it has been a model for ecological balance worldwide. The summit was conceived by philanthropist Henk B. Rogers. Contains soundbites from Robert Kennedy Jr., Mr. Rogers, and Elizabeth Lindsey.
