Sherwood Valve announced it plans to close its Wheatfield, New York plant. The Washington-based manufacturer of industrial, medical, and scuba products claims it will take three to six weeks to shift operations to Ohio and Pennsylvania.
The end of production in New York will cause nearly 140 job losses for current employees. Sherwood plans to add 10 to 20 jobs to its Cleveland location which currently has 40 workers and possibly adds jobs to its Pennsylvania plant which employs 130 workers.
