About This Video
Amazon.com has announced plans to add another center in the state of Indiana. Most recently it has plans of opening a new 950,000 square-foot distribution center which will create over 350 jobs by 2011.
The new hub will be located in the Airtech Logistics Park near the Indianapolis International Airport. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation provided up to $1.65 million in performance-based tax credits and up to $149,500 in training grants.
This is the third time in less than a year the company has brought business to Indiana. In March, Amazon.com announced plans to open a distribution center in Whitestown with estimates of employing over 1,200 workers. Later last year, it also announced plans of a fulfillment center in Munster creating 100 new jobs.
The company will plans to hire managers, warehouse supervisors and more than 200 warehouse associates in the upcoming weeks. The facility will also employ up to 700 temporary associates during peak seasons.
