Actually, Allen, the Mahalo Daily team likes Viddler and signed up on their own, and syndicate their videos all over the place. We're happy to have them! That being said, maybe we can convince them that Viddler's player is better for embedding than YouTube's. Wanna help out?

i think its a mistake to pimp videos that just use you for storage while a good number of us use viddler way more than that - but this is good fodder for a CN post. how many times do i need to see diggnation on the top right slot or mahalo in the feature?



at least engadget uses your player and gets a double pimpin'.

I would really like the feedback, Allen, and (trust me) I appreciate what you're saying 100%. Please send me a link to the write-up if you do one, and as the main person doing the featuring (I don't have anything to do with the Red Carpet and that little player), I will take everything you say under serious consideration. I have many of the same concerns you mention here, while also knowing that when iPhone (or other similar launch/event) is hot, I'm also expected to find the best related video to keep our features relevant, so it can be a catch-22 at times.

Brandice - I think it's a mistake to alienate the community for the sake of publishers who just use you - has Mahalo come in here to comment on the video or reply to the other comments? Mahalo is just one example - there are plenty of others.



I've always liked Viddler because of the community, you are one of the biggest community members. But basically lately you guys have gone commercial - I hope that it's something the team has considered and moved that way strategically.



I assume that the commercial videos may help with monetization but its the community that got Viddler going.



I will have more thoughts when I have some time.
