Alan Crone spoke to the Society of Entrepreneurs Roundtable on Thursday, April 10, 2008 (51 min.).
Attorney Alan Crone educated attendees on how non-competes apply to employers and employees, and in what situations they are enforceable. In this presentation, Alan Crone covered issues such as the appropriate scope of a non-compete, when and how non-competes are enforced, the risks associated with not adhering to non-competes, and whether you can or should be required to sign one in order to be hired for employment.
Attendees also learned about trade secret protection and intellectual property. What qualifies as a trade secret, and how is one protected? What can be considered intellectual property? If a person is on staff or a salaried employee who was involved in a creation or invention, do they have any rights to the revenue generated by that idea?
Alan Crone defined and provided a clear perspective on these three important areas of law with which any entrepreneur or business leader should be familiar. Alan Crone is Co-Founder of Crone & Mason, PLC and leads the firms Executive Employment Law Practice Group.
