2 years ago 0 + -OK a brief video to show you where to find the code scripting box. First make sure you have the blue nav buttons on the bottom of your screen and click "build".
learn4life (0:06)
2 years ago 0 + -You'll see a nice translucent prim making box appear with the "create" box handily highlighted for you. Move your cursor over the shape and choose one.

2 years ago 0 + -Here I have chosen a cone - you can choose any shape you want.
learn4life (0:13)
2 years ago 0 + -Here you get to play Harry Potter again and magic up a "Prim" (short for primitive) shape.
learn4life (0:15)
2 years ago 0 + -Voila there it is - small isn't it - and with lots of pretty coloured handles for moving it this way and that.Next we need to resize it.
learn4life (0:18)
2 years ago 0 + -So we go back to the translucent - Prim creating box and check the "Stetch" radio button. Then grey shapes appear all around it on different corners.
learn4life (0:19)
2 years ago 0 + -I have clicked on the corner nearest me and now I am going to s-t-r-e-t-c-h that shape!
learn4life (0:23)
2 years ago 0 + -That's better, nice and big - wot you think ? Easier to work with eh? Notice there's a big translucent cube around the cone with colored handles (that's what those little cubes are called)

2 years ago 0 + -Right, blink and you'll miss thia next bit. I am about to click on the blue "more" button in the bottom right hand corner of the prim creating box the one with more and two chevrons pointing right. Watch carefully what happens next - you may need to replay it over again.
learn4life (0:27)
2 years ago 0 + -OK see that? Another box dropped down and the blue button changed to "less". Now you have more options to do far more things with the object. There are five tabs. We want the one at the end on the right.
learn4life (0:33)
2 years ago 0 + -There we are - got it by clicking on it. There is a blue button with the word New Script - don't click it yet. And under that a folder called "contents".
learn4life (0:36)
2 years ago 0 + -See that!? When you highlighted the button on the right with the words New Script a message appeared on the left. The words "Object: Hello, Avatar" appeared. This is the object talking to you and is the default script for any prim.
learn4life (0:38)
2 years ago 0 + -If you notice there is also a little icon under (well in ) the contents folder and this is labelled New Script. Woah you have generated a New Script! Good stuff!
learn4life (0:43)
2 years ago 0 + -Now when you click on the New Script icon up pops the script box large as life there on the desktop. This is where you do your scripting.
learn4life (0:52)
2 years ago 0 + -Pull the box to where you want to work best and click in the greyish blue bit and highlight the code. You can rewrite or modify this if you want. Try changing the words and clicking the reset button on the bottom and see what happens for instance.

2 years ago 0 + -Hey hey now you know where the script box is. Phew what a lot of things to learn. Print out these comments if you are on the Viddler site and follow them when playing the video oevr and over again. Action replay it. You'll get the idea. Then go and get some fresh air or make yourself a nice cup of tea. Then come back to it later and see if you can do it by remembering.
