It was the coolest thing. The first harry potter book came out when i was 10, and since they came out about once a year, I literally grew up with Harry and Ron and people. It's been a fun adventure. ^_^

I'm the same way, that's why I tend to like to read books more than once. The first time is for the enjoyment, involvment and emotional trips, and the second (and third and fourth hundred) time is when I pay attention to some of the subtler aspects of the story and of the writing.

Heh. I'm such a book geek. I remember everything I read, and I STILL re-read everything.

I've been meaning to read that for, like, years now. I have yet to get around to it

Again, I love that one as well. Pretty much any distopian novel, you can bet i'll love it.

I started reading those when I was 17, right after the third book came out. Thought they were ok until the third book, then I was completely hooked! Love them all!

I'm reading that one right now! It's intriguing.

Argh!!! Stupid people. My dad was a librarian and he had to deal with that crap a lot.

Kids are very cruel unless they've been raised well.

I still need to read that one...time for another trip to the bookstore!

Such a great book!! The movie's ok, but the book is much better.

I'm ashamed that I have not yet read Austen...Sigh. But I have a borrowed copy of Pride and Prejudice on my bookshelf, so I should read it.

Prrof that I am a total book geek: I often leave for work and forget my lunch, because I'll be unlocking my car and don't want to go to the trouble of going back inside. Today I forgot my book to read during lunch (PRide and Prejudice), was halfway down the street, and turned my car around to go back and get it. *headdesk* Such a geek.

Yay for fluffy mass-market books! My favorite author of that type is Clive Cussler.

My father's a fan of Cussler, but sadly I have not tried to dive further...

of those four, Switly Tilting Planet is my fav. But all of them are excellent!

I liked Many Waters the best. I got kinda sucked into the whole biblical fiction thing.

Such a great book! Though I'm tempted to believe that Huxley's idea is more where society is headed (Brave New World)

That book scared the living daylights out of me, partyl because the tone is so cheery. Yikes! Love that book!

The Brothers Karamazov. Amazing book. College courses are taught on that book alone. Heck, courses are taught on the Grand Inquisitor chapter alone! It's a book worth anyone's attention.

I think I read somewhere Rice has been 'born again' and doesn't write that stuff any more. Ah well. She made all the money she needed, I guess!

Hehe. I thought of this one earlier in the video because i always confuse the names William Golding and William Goldman.

Took me a while to read that, too. I had to put it down for a while 'cause it was so heavy.

that book really depressed me at the end...and almost ruined the entire story for me. I

I absolutly loathed wrinkle in time when we were forced to read it in like 2nd grade. I don't think I could bring myself to read it again

I absolutely love that book and her collected poems, with "I Am Vertical" being one of my favorites.

Favorite of mine, as well. Any book that discets the nature of man with such effect deserves a place in the hall of classics.

God I love Fahrenheit 451. Perhaps the most subtle but strikinly wide-reaching change in my life came of reading it. Hurrah, Dystopia!

Claudia was such a cool character in that book.

I love the Bronte sisters. They wrote some amazing novels.

i could listen to talk about Jane Austen for ages!

Ooh, I didn't know it was a book! I must go to the library come December.

That came out when I was about to grad from high school and I was GLUED to it. :)

I wish I'd read that on my own instead of in high school. I think I would've loved it then.

it's totally humorous, I agree. I think she intended it that way. :)

East of Eden is a book that changed how I looked at things, and it still does everytime I read it again. I highly recomment it, my favorite book of all time. :)

I agree! :) I'm glad you're on board and I'm so glad I started the group so that I can interact with all of you. :)

omg I just came across this video of yours -- you and I have the same taste in books! :)
