About This Video
This video is
A short made from an Edison movie of 1906, this simply shows immigrants arriving at the Ellis Island entry point to the United States in New York harbor. Movies were so novel in that day that audiences would be thrilled to watch very long scenes of ordinary events. I tightened this up considerably by eliminating redundant footage and inserting reasonable transitions, and included a music track reminiscent of silent film days.
