About This Video
This video shows many of the activities of the Cathal Bui Festival held on the last weekend in June in Blacklion, County Cavan, Ireland. The festival celebrates the legacy of Cathal Bui Mac Giolla Ghunna, an Irish poet who wrote the famous poem, The Yellow Bittern. The festival has poetry readings, traditional music. world music, exhibition of paintings, an art workshop, puppet shows and dancing for children, geo-archeological tours, a car treasure hunt, and a monster raffle. County Cavan is a beautiful part of Ireland and Blacklion is its jewel. Located on the border between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, Blacklion has a village atmosphere and a world-wide reach.
