Umm... not to nitpick but it's spelled w/ an x, as in "Red Sox". The full name was the Red Stockings when the team was formed from a few members of a Cincinnati based club w/ that as a nickname. The news papers would turn Stockings into sox so they could fit it into the head lines and it stuck...
