cool... several of my very close friends are vegan so it's nice to see that being represented, especially because your character isn't "preachy" about it

I'm a vegetarian, So I know a lot about vegetarianism and veganism. Feel free to ask questions if you wish! So nice to hear about a character who is vegan.

I don't think Eragon counts because it's an exception. Chris's parents promoted and sold his book as a full-time job, with full-time money behind it. They turned making their son's book a bestseller into their only job. That's not something 99.9% of self-published authors do or can do.

And considering that they had the money to do that is another thing. Most people don't have hundreds of dollars to tour the United States. He got published bigtime because of dumb luck. The guy he arm-wrestled was the nephew of the guy who runs Alfred Knoph books, so... Yeah. That's dumb luck for ya. :P
