My wife tells me that I'm actually doing more than I think I am. I still see Everest out there in front of me, though.

Have you thought about releasing your novel as a podiobook like Scott Sigler, J.C. Hutchins, and Mur Lafferty?

You could release a 1 or more chapters every week and get feedback from listeners.

All the aforementioned writers did this and now have book deals and are doing very well. They're not in the minority though; tons of writers that have released their novels as a podcast novel first are now selling lots on Amazon, etc.

It might be a rad idea for ya. If you're stumped for ideas, the listeners/readers might offer some imput for ya.

:)

I've thought seriously about it. One side of me says: Don't waste something you've worked so hard on by giving it away for free. The other side says: In this new market, the only way you're going to succeed is by doing what innovators like Scott Sigler are doing.

Only trouble is that a lot of these folks are working in the genres (horror, thriller, fantasy) and I'm working in straight-up "literary" fiction, at least for now. I'm not sure if there's as much of an audience for it, but I guess it might be time to find out.

I am posting a weekly story in text form at echristopherclark.com, but maybe adding audio (and video?) components is the way to go.
