St Peters Basilica is often referred to as a cathedral,
however, because it is not the seat of a bishop it is referred to as a Basilica.
Rome's cathedral is actually San Giovanni in Laterano which is the seat of Rome's bishop.
You might still think that St Peters is the biggest church in the world, but it's now the 2nd biggest after
the Basilica of our lady of peace in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast, West Africa!
Inside St Peters Basilica and to the right of the entrance lies "La Pieta" by Michelangelo.
