Mouth of truth - Bocca della verita.
Rome Italy La Piazza della Bocca della Verita or The Mouth of Truth Square in Rome Italy. The mouth of truth, dating to the 4th cantury BC is set into the wall of the portico of the Santa Maria in Cosmedin.
Legend has it that in medieval times the jaws would snap shut over the hands of those not telling the truth.
The temple that one sees at the start of the clip is the Temple of Hercules, just behind it is the Temple of Portunus, these are the best preserved of Rome Republican times temples. The church itself is often overlooked which is a pity because the inside is beautifully adorned.
The fountain that you see in the center frame is the "Fountain of the Tritons" or "Fontana dei Tritoni" and is actually the emblem of my website.
