And look at you go! Owning every Apple product ever made!

College in America is just big business, it is about getting the students in as big a debt as possible so they are slaves for the rest of their life, yes you may earn more if you go to college but you will also be hopelessly tied down and stepped on.

You got it right though, I noticed that when I came here from Europe 9 years ago.

You hit the nail on the head! My rule is: If I don't have the money, then I don't buy the [product/service/etc].

Derek. I am a teen who wants to move to America and do exactly what your doing.. Except, you work for a website. I want to make websites + iPhone apps.
I'd like to go to university in America, but after watching your movie I'm thinking I should just move to Sydney or maybe even just stay in Perth.
What would you do in this situation?
Thanks! Carl

Hey Carl,

The main reason why I decided to go to America because I couldn't put up with Sydney's lame bandwidth caps on broadband internet. Most American broadband internet companies provide true unlimited internet access.

Also, because the tech scene is far larger here and I know so many people.

Making websites and iPhone apps can be done anywhere in the world. Sydney or Perth... it doesn't really matter. :)

Uni was great, but School was great for life lessons and mixing with other people. :P

There are also 'supplimental forms' that many college require you to fill out if you are applying via common app. It's not as long as a regular app, but it is still another thing to fill out.

Sadly majority of US high school teachers [and I've heard professors too] don't allow Wiki as a reference. /= what #noobs!

They'll wise up soon enough. If not, TELL them to. :)

As much as Idon' enjoy it, history is important. But I think we learn enough history in HS that we shouldn't have to take it in college if we passed it in HS.

Exactly. If you know enough in HS, then why do more in college. Psht!

Groups, cliques, gangs... it's all the same; lame.

I can't believe they're expected to supply their own scantrons. /=

text book should be fead to laptops and kindel type readers! It will save our youth backs and trees!

Exactly!

The Kindle DX was just released and several colleges are going to trial it as a replacement for textbooks.

It makes a lot of sense to me, although there are devices that are much cheaper and have a lot more functions. E.g., netbooks.

Students need to pressure their schools and colleges in to letting go of textbooks and using a digital form. It's cheaper, less waste and reselling used books, and weighs nothing (it's online?).

great place to be from lovely! Sidney Rocks!

The collage experance is half about showing you can finish something!
