Is Australian Cadbury chocolate the same as in England? That's pretty good chocolate compared to what we have here. Though some people tell me they bring Hershey bars over there as gifts.

No; UK Cadbury and Australian Cadbury are quite different. In short, Australian Cadbury has a higher melting point ? due to the warmer climate ? than UK Cadbury. I assume this goes for all other Australian chocolate brands.

Europe has the best chocolate in the world. They usually don't need to add polymorphs (getting geeky) to stop the chocolate from melting. Belgium, Switzerland, and Finland have chocolate that will make your taste buds go wild. (If you know anyone on that side of 'the pond', get them to send you a selection. Otherwise, I can post some from where I work.)

As for Hershey's, I sell it at work - it tastes rubbish. I love a lot of US candies, but the chocolate is usually pretty horrible.

An untrained Australian tongue *may* like Hershey's (or similar), but if they compare it to a chocolate from the UK they'll probably dismiss the Hershey's.

[To self - Now, where ma Junior Mints at?]

Duhr, I momentarily forgot you're an expert on the subject. When you're in New York, I'm going to pester you with lots of questions about chocolate.

I'm not sure if that applies more to children or my girlfriend.

heehee... popping candy. its what i expect from a british candy.

I'm from Ireland and I can say without a shadow of doubt that Cadbury do teh best chocolate ever. Give me a Flake or a Dairy Milk and I am a happy man.
