SSG Darrell Griffin, Jr. (KIA 03/21/07) and his father, Darrell, Sr. were writing "Last Journey" when Darrell, Jr. was killed. Sr. subseqently embedded with Jr's combat unit in Baghdad to finish their book. This excerpt is when we found out our son had been shot.
