Pain Control, Pilates Reformer and Recovery

Pain control following back surgery is very difficutl. Problems that are a big concern are constipation and adaptation to dosage. BUT if pain medication is the only way to get moving, then that's the way it is. Adapting the reformer to reduce the risk. I really like doing the short spine :( but it's gotta go. Introduction to The Spine Video Blog

My name is Darlene and I've had two back surgeries in the last 6 months. I have advanced arthriis and need a third surgery but don't want it. Guess I'm not in enough pain yet. I'm a certified pilates, yoga teacher and a personal trainer. Don't let my age fool you. I was a teacher of English as a Second language. I was very ill vor over 10 years and when I recovered in 2004, I thought I'd do what I loved. So that's when I got all the certifications. It wasn't until August of 2006 that periodic hip pain reared its ugly head. It took until March 2007 for things to get bad enough that I had to close down my studio and wait in line for surgery.
