This is one of the most brutal core exercises I've done.
The objective is to be completely straight from your cervical spine down to your hips (DO NOT let your hips drop) and not twist at all from side to side as you walk.
Performing this correctly makes your core work through both abdominal bracing and preventing rotation, which is the two main jobs of the core.
This also burns the hell out of the triceps and rotators of the shoulders from the strong isometric contraction and stabilization.
