Here's another great unilateral exercise for the vmo, adductors, and glutes.
The lower the step, the lower it targets on the vmo (vastus medialis oblique). The higher the step, the higher up on vmo is recruited.
That's the muscle that sits right next to your knee that's often called the tear drop muscle. This muscle is a major stabilizer of the knee.
Make sure not to push off the back foot. You're training the foot on the step, not the back leg.
Stay as upright as possible.
Can one foot on the step until all the prescribed repetitions are performed before switching legs.
Train you weaker leg first.
