Donut Protest in Phoenix - Phoenix Demands Donuts

Brian Shaler staged a protest at a local donut shop today. It was a blast (I went, but I'm not in the video). More photos are on Flickr. If you're confused, you should be as there wasn't much reason to hold a protest. It was a lot of fun though, and a reaction to this. Round-Up at Rustler's Rooste in Arizona

On Friday afternoon Rob, Todd, Andrew, Chris, and Tom all went up to Rustler's Rooste which is just south of Fry's Electronics south of Baseline, in Phoenix. It's a sort of western restaurant with fun stuff.

Matador Coffee Grand Opening

I can't remember the last time cheese and grapes were ever paired so perfectly as at the Matador Coffee Bar opening at Sagasta Salon. On Saturday evening I stopped in to check out the new place and for the grand opening party. A large crowd had formed both inside and outside and appeared to be having a very good time. The late September weather is perfect for this sort of thing. No doubt part of the crowd were customers of the salon, as the booze was flowing. The food pairings may have been intended for the wine, but I thought the cheese and grapes went really well with my latte. I made my way through the line of people to the bar and finally had a chance to meet Mario Martusciello (one of the owners of Matador Coffee Roasters). He was behind the counter working the espresso machine. Of course, being the rebel that I am I had a latte. It was excellent. Since it?s so close to my office, I'll no doubt have to make it a regular stop whenever I?m driving on Indian School Rd. The Matador Coffee grand opening was THE coffee-event of the month for sure. On August 10th, the team went over to look at a possible office space location and decided to treat Peter to lunch. We had never been to Bertha's Cafe before, but knew we had to try it. Everyone liked this place. It's right by the freeway, on Indian School Rd. The rent is a good deal, but we need to find out what the parking lot situation is because we're not sure if there are enough spaces we could reserve. We don't have a sink or kitchen, but the restrooms are nearby. We would be on the second floor. Something like 1800 sq ft. 1710 E Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85016 New carpet. Utilities included!

This is a potential office space for Tornado Design, Rising Tide, and maybe others. The attractive thing about this office space is that it is one big space, rather than multiple offices. Although there is a portion that could be a conference. Update: Nobody liked this office space once we had seen the inside.
