About This Video
This video is
This is Apple's new video about the new Apple Macbook. I figured that I'd share it here for conversational reasons.
Apple lawyers: If you want me to take it down. I will. But you'll have to ask nicely.

1 year ago 0 + -The new unibody doesn't SEEM like a big deal, but they are certainly making a big deal about it. Thoughts?
ShaneRobi... (1:22)
1 year ago +1 + -I think it is a pretty big deal. Over the life of several of our laptops the seams and various parts have started to go out of alignment. A single unibody would be all the things they say in the video and once again, Apple is the first to figure it out.
djsteen (1:22)
1 year ago 0 + -I haven't touched one yet, but I think it will look really nice with out the plastic edge (like on the old models). Although I think it will be pretty sharp against one's wrists. :\
cdevroe (2:39)
1 year ago +1 + -Is this a process that can be easily duplicated by other manufaturers?
ShaneRobi... (2:39)
1 year ago +1 + -Theoretically. But building a decent MP3 player is also something that could be duplicated by others and yet no one has yet come close to the iPod. I think because people keep wanting $500 crappy laptops that the Dells and IBMs can't/won't spend the time and money to figure out how to follow Apple in this direction.
Not to mention the Dells and IBMs don't control the manufacturing of all the other components that go into their machines. So they're stuck creating cases for the lowest common denominator part specs.

1 year ago 0 + -Love that it is glass + LED!
ShaneRobi... (3:33)
1 year ago 0 + -Same with my MB Air. The difference between an LED and a regular display is amazing.
DanneWasH... (3:33)
1 year ago 0 + -A big con for everyone that works with design or photography..
ShaneRobi... (3:33)
1 year ago 0 + -But if you're a Designer, Photographer, or Video Editor then you'll be using a MacBook Pro and/or a Mac Pro.
DanneWasH... (3:33)
1 year ago +1 + -the new mbps also got the glossy screens i wouldnt buy the 17 inch since its vastly overpriced if u compare it to the new 15,4 inches
cdevroe (3:33)
1 year ago 0 + -Yeah, I've heard from several designers that the glossy screens are just not an option if you work in print. They literally can not use them.
cdevroe (4:08)
1 year ago 0 + -I'd notice the "instant-on" too.
ShaneRobi... (4:08)
1 year ago 0 + -Again, same with the Air. When I hand people my Air, after they freak that it doesn't weigh anything, they open it and emit an audible "Whoaaaaaa" when that LED pops on.
cdevroe (4:44)
1 year ago 0 + -5-times faster! I'm mostly looking forward to iPhoto / iMovie performance.

1 year ago 0 + -I've heard mixed reviews. But I think I'll love the new touchpad.

1 year ago 0 + -"Get rid of complexity."
brianlay... (4:21)
1 year ago 0 + -OK the integrated GPU is cool. That has me more interested.

1 year ago 0 + -I think Viddler should give one of these away as a contest prize...
cdevroe
1 year ago 0 + -Oh yeah? I'd rig it so that I'd be the automatic winner though. ;)
brianlay... (3:30)
1 year ago 0 + -ummm no... Is he referring to an early version? This is really strange. it would be cool to have a display go to the edges but this definitely has a border... strange...
brianlay... (1:30)
1 year ago +1 + -I wonder if the unibody give the notebook more rigidity. In my experience it is the connections to the motherboard that fail. Though all macbooks I know of do have the same broken body peice on the front right corner.
cdevroe (1:30)
1 year ago +1 + -From what I've seen on Engadget, this Macbook is incredibly solid.
ShaneRobi... (1:30)
1 year ago +1 + -Absolutely. If you've ever taken a laptop apart, any laptop not just the Apples, then you know how flimsy they are. Even the Mac Titanium cases were thin and had a tremendous amount of flex.
A solid block of milled Aluminum? Can't be much flex at all.
brianlay... (5:16)
1 year ago 0 + -Multiple contact tracking is cool too. That will be very nice.
brianlay... (5:47)
1 year ago 0 + -lol - what did he say about the mac book being made of one peice?
paulsandu... (5:47)
1 year ago 0 + -yeah-lol
brianlay... (6:09)
1 year ago 0 + -This is nice too. It's great when conservation and capitalism go hand in hand.
brianlay... (7:00)
1 year ago 0 + -I'm not convinced that I won't miss my two buttons and allowing my left, right and middle (both) click. though jestures will help.

princessl... (7:00)
1 year ago 0 + -I think I agree with Brian on that one. I will most likely get used to it, but I will most likely miss it too.
