Santa Rosa Island Southeast Anchorage

This anchorage gives access to the famed Torrey Pines. The access point to the cliffs has a rocky bottom and is a lee shore under most conditions, so it's only good as a fair weather and day-only anchorage.

Anchoring at Morse Point, Santa Cruz Island

Morse Point is a well protected anchorage on the south shore of Santa Cruz. It's usually empty and it's one of very few places that require a single hook.

Fernando's Whales

We frequently see Humpback whales in the vicinity of Cavern Point on Santa Cruz Island. Fernando had been wishing to see some of these big critters and, as if by magic, they appeared and approached our boat.

Twin Harbors, Santa Cruz Island California

Twin Harbors is an intimate spot to drop the hook ... really two hooks. It's so narrow, you can't afford to swing. It's well protected from the prevailing west winds and swell and offers excellent kayaking on a wild part of the Santa Cruz Island coast.
