About This Video
http://www.EmploymentCrossing.com Californias Economic Development Department announced that in July, Stanislaus Countys jobless rate reached 11.3 percent. Ultimately, this means that estimated 27,200 people that would prefer to be employed are not. According to the California Budget Project report, Californias unemployment rate is the highest it has been in the last 12 years. In addition, its unemployment rate is also the fourth-highest in the nation. Three sectors that were hit hard in the housing market were residential construction, plumbing and electrical work, and real estate. The collapse of the housing market has also taken a big toll on other sectors. The continued snowball effect has also hurt the banking, manufacturing and retail sectors. Many Californian residents were forced to use alternative sources for income. The welfare programs CalWORKS had close to 20,000 more clients then it did a year ago. An estimated 95,000 more households receive food stamps and an additional 58,000 children are registered for Healthy Families
