Be warned: That's digital zoom! Basically it makes the image larger, but quite poor quality. DJSteen recommends minimal to zero use of this function.

That's actually the reason that these things maybe won't stay on the market, right? Did Flip bother to TM/C/Patent that? They should have. My parents bought a Kodak Instant Camera back in the day, just before Polaroid sued 'em and stopped them from making them anymore. Hope that doesn't happen here.

It is an RFID tag. For tracking inventory in the warehouse and/or store. Possibly even for verifying the count of cameras in a shipping crate. There was one in your Catcher and the Rye book too.
