Bruce Meyer and Peter Mullin have two of Californias finest car collections. Meyers is full of Americana ranging from hot rods and motorcycles to buttons, pins and photos. He even has Clark Gables 1957 Mercedes convertible. The Mullin collection on the other hand is chock-full of rare and exquisite French cars. Theyre some of the most beautiful vehicles youll ever set your eyes on.

Car culture ranges from sport compact tuners on one end of the spectrum to carefully restored antiques on the other. But one type of car thats unlike any other is called an art car. Make no mistake, theyre basically regular old autos, but with a twist. Their owners have turned them into rolling sculpture. In fact, the car beneath the art doesnt really matter since its only meant to be a vehicle for artistic expression (yes, pun intended).The folks that create art cars are truly an eccentric bunch. I cant think of anyone else that would glue dozens of action figures (or bits or broken floor tile) to their vehicle, for no particular reason. But through this unusual form of expression comes a truly unique genre of art.
