Sorry to hear about the iMovie dump. Try to get into the habit of hitting command-s frequently after any little additional editing effort. Even Final Cut Express will dump on occasion (I stopped using iMovie back in v6.0.2 days). Video is still difficult/tough processing all the different codecs/images, audio, tweaks. But it is a huge improvement over making videos with cuts between VHS decks back in the day. Command-S is your friend. Maybe try duplicating your video effort midway or at anytime you stop for a break just in case so you have something to go back to in the event of some random corruption glitch. Any thought of repairing your air conditioning before the trip? I just had an AC compressor lockup myself which I have to get around to swapping out after flushing the system, etc... Time for an iPhone 3g!
