ALDE spending priorities over the past five years have concentrated on delivering a “Europe of results”, meaning a focus on small business support and measures to increase competitiveness, innovation, research, transport (TENs), education (such as Erasmus) and job creation linked to the 10 year policy goals enshrined in the so-called Lisbon Strategy laid down in 2000.
