About This Video
uTag is an internet service that aims to reward people for the value they pass on to the people in their online social networks. Instead of being punished for providing links to external material that may be of interest to their readers, uTaggers can now, in one simple step, tag their outbound links and share in the rewards of having people click on them. uTag came out of the recent StartupCamp Australia and has caused a lot of controversy - should outbound links be monetised - then again whats the difference between uTag and sending someone to a site like the NYT which has a 15 second full page ad before accessing content? Less than one week after the idea was conceived we had 10,000 hits on our website. Our aim is to do a quick demo and to explain why we think that rather than creating a nuisance, we've created a pradigm shift in the way in which value is recognised and rewarded.
