About This Video
Are you considering buying a property with an ocean, lake, or other view? One of the things you should consider is how the landscape is going to grow up around your property. Will your view last a lifetime, or will it be gone in 10 years when the trees get taller? When it comes time to sell, will you be able to sell your home at a premium because it has a view, or will your view be obscured by trees and vegetation?
If the trees are on your property then it might not matter, but if there are trees on neighbouring properties then it could be a big problem. Most people aren't too keen to cut down their trees to improve somebody else's view!
In this short video, Tim Ayres of Royal LePage Coast Capital Realty demonstrates the effect of growing trees on a view from a small community park that had a great view 10-15 years ago when it was established, but now has had its view obscured.
One of the best parts about Sooke is that many of its homes are set on view lots on a south-facing slope overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains
