Shama mistakenly calls this a book of fiction. It is not. It is a real life experience where a pet owner saved her dogs life by doing things like getting rid of the chemicals in her house. I was personally flabergasted about the harmful effects on our pets from dryer sheets, common kitchen/bath cleaning sprays and carpeting. Pets are so small and they abdsorb so much more of this stuff than we do. I never would have known that if I had not read this book. Eye opening, that's for sure.

Yes, I apologize. I meant a different genre of book than I usually review. I have corrected this at http://Shama.Tv.

Though it is nonfiction, The Healing Art of Pet Parenthood reads like a novel. You will be captivated to follow Nadine's 19 years with her dog Buttons. It's a wonderful, honest story of love, life, loss and holistic healing.

If you love your pets like family members, you will love this book. It also taught me a lot about how to keep both my human and animal family members healthier by simply taking a look at products I was using around the house - from dryer sheets to floor cleaners and soaps.
