2 years ago 0 + -He's quoting her directly, actually. A lot of his work is referencing things, and letting those associations enrich his work. He especially does that in The Wasteland.

2 years ago 0 + -oh, you have to read The Wasteland and Four Quartets. There's an excellent website somewhere that has The Wasteland, in frames, with hypertext, so you can click on almost every word and figure out what Eliot's referencing. And Four Quartets is just stunningly beautiful.
