24 day old Jewel fell out her nest. She clung to the nest for 10 minutes before falling to the ground. It took a while to find the tiny thing, and she didn't like being picked up. Before putting her back in, I used a teaspoon to remove a nonviable egg. It took a few tries to get her back in the nest. She would quickly scramble out the other side and into my waiting hand. Finally, she quit fighting and stayed in the nest when I set her there. She didn't move for 10 minutes until mom finally landed next to her and fed her.
[trimmed 6 minutes of her clinging to the nest]
