About This Video
Author Toni Morrison published her first novel in 1970, and her career has spanned a number of milestones for civil rights, technology, and politics. In this short video, the Nobel Prize winning novelist talks about writing in the age of President Barack Obama and the Internet.
Earlier this week, GalleyCat covered the National Coalition Against Censorship's launch of the Free Speech Leadership Council. Morrison spoke at an intimate event at the book-filled apartment of Council chair and former HarperCollins CEO Jane Friedman . The new council is a collection of community leaders working together to combat censorship around the country. All attendees left with a copy of 'Burn This Book,' an anthology published by HarperStudio and PEN American Center.
