About This Video
A standing room only crowd celebrated the release of Arthur Phillips' new novel, "The Song Is You at the recently expanded Bookcourt store in Brooklyn.
GalleyCat captured the proceedings in this video. Musician Jonathan Spottiswoode joined the reading, playing quietly as Phillips read an excerpt about a soldier in love with Billie Holiday. Largehearted Boy has an interview about Phillips' favorite music.
Here's more from the author's biography: "Arthur Phillips was born in Minneapolis in 1969 and educated at Harvard. He has been a child actor, a jazz musician, a speechwriter, a dismally failed entrepreneur, and a five-time Jeopardy! champion."
