9 months ago 0 + -Heck yeah for type-writers! I wanted to buy one from the antique store but I was cheap.
Magda-Chr... (0:28)
9 months ago 0 + -See, that's why you got to find one abandoned on the side of the road like I did ^_^

9 months ago 0 + -I just do NOT know when to shut up
Patricius (5:19)
9 months ago 0 + -Oh yes... my mom had one (it broke sadly) and it's certainly something to get used to.

9 months ago 0 + -Good luck! NaNo is always about trying new things (and seemingly crazy things); keep the spirit alive!
Magda-Chr... (7:04)
9 months ago 0 + -Thanks! NaNo just wouldn't be half as fun if it wasn't for the crazy aspect, now would it ^_^

Magda-Chr... (0:10)
9 months ago 0 + -I love Rent, so very much. Last march I got to see a production of it with my sis (up until then I had only seen the movie, even though I had been dying to see the play for years before the movie came out) and it was so much fun and I loved it.

9 months ago 0 + -Have fun counting your words! LOL! I handwrote one of my nano novels. and counting every single word.
Magda-Chr... (7:08)
9 months ago 0 + -You counted every word??? that's crazy. I was planning on just counting all the words on, like, five pages and then averaging it out per page or something. It's either that, or bring the pages to class to count during lectures. Actually, that's not half a bad idea...
FirstClown (7:08)
9 months ago 0 + -Actually with the typewriter, you could scan the pages into the computer and run an OCR program on it to get the text. That should work perfectly to get your word count, no?
Magda-Chr... (7:08)
9 months ago 0 + -I didn't even think about using an OCR program for some reason. Maybe cause I've never had a need for one before ^_^
Thanks for the idea! I'm totally gonna go download a program now

9 months ago 0 + -Awesome! Thanks!
ChrisHarvey (4:41)
9 months ago 0 + -That's cool!... But how do you plan to upload your novel for the final word count, etc? Will you scan all the pages in?
Magda-Chr... (4:41)
9 months ago 0 + -I haven't decided yet. I'm either going to scan all the pages in and then use an OCR program to turn it into text, or I'll just count the words in ten pages or so, average it out and then figure out overall word count that way. If I do that, then I can just create a word doc, type, like, a hundred words and just copy/paste until I have the same amount of words and then just submit that.

9 months ago 0 + -I love that classic typewriter sound! But then, I love old LP records, with the hissy staticy sound, so that might be just me.,...

9 months ago 0 + -Gotta love Julie Taymor's work!
