At our write in they had seperate prizes for word wars for typers and handwriters and counted by lines for handwriters. Which was cool they didn't feel left out

I brought that idea up, but it turns out that at the kick off, there was only me and one other girl who were handwriting, and after the kickoff, she ended up getting a laptop (i think hers needed to be fixed or something). So, while I'm still all for the idea (winner by default, every time! haha), I'm not sure if everyone else will agree ^_^

Have you given up on the idea of writing it on the typewriter now? Don't blame you - this thing is hard enough -why make it even harder on yourself? But more power to your elbow if you DO!

I still want to, but I'm realizing that instead of the majority of my novel being typed and the rest handwritten, it's going to be closer to 50/50 handwriting and typed on the typewriter. But that's okay. It's still an adventure not using the computer (which, actually, i'm pretty sure I'll end up using by the end of the month anyways ^_^)

Yes, bathroom breaks are pretty essential, I'm afraid! :-)

They're not so bad! That's when I get my best ideas. . . ;p

lol, last year's day one I was stuck in the car for 4 hours so I had nothing better to do than write and count words.

heh, I have a 2 hour car ride this weekend and I was thinking of doing the same thing. However, wasn't your handwriting all bumpy and shakey cause of the car moving?

The best concerts are the ones you don't know the act, 'cause then they really blow you away. I was introduced to M Ward this way. It was awesome!

My hand would have fallen off if I had to hand write 1000 words.

OMG I have that CD on my iTunes. I still haven't listened to it, and I don't know Ted Leo... but I will put it on my iPod right now and give it a listen.

Seriously? hahaha, that's SO amazing awesome! That just made my day right there ^_^

Mwhaha, I shall invade your novel, and TAKE OVER ALL OF NANOWRIDOM! MWAHAHAHA ^_^

Yeah that was cool. Haha I don't think I actually stayed up till midnight that year! I suck!!

Yeah Phoenix and Tucson are not exactly all that close!!

coming from phx and going to school in tucson, i've made the trip countless numbers of times. The more and more I do it, the shorter and shorter it becomes.

This one actually wasn't too bad (it was pretty small, though). $13 for tickets, $12 for cd, $13 for shirt (which is really good seeing as that i've payed $25 for concert shirts before). The sweatshirt I really wanted was $25.

Yeah I always bring my notebook around with me for times when there's not quite time/room/whatever to haul out the laptop.
