About This Video
Kentucky vegetable growers have developed a successful system for year-round production in solar heated greenhouses, or high tunnels. A soil-borne disease caused by the fungus Sclerotinia sclerotiorum affects many of the cool-season crops grown in winter in high tunnels. This video introduces the high tunnel production system commonly used in Kentucky, and the disease cycle of S. sclerotiorum. It presents data collected from on-farm experiments conducted to test two disease control tactics compatible with national organic standards. The studies were guided by a team of scientists at Kentucky State University and the University of Kentucky.
